Designed For Strength
These extra thick liners feature a Star Base, where the bottom is gathered and sealed for added strength. This design helps prevent the liner from breaking when full of food waste without affecting the overall capacity.
These liners are also suitable for collecting garden waste. They’re thicker than standard 80L compostable sacks, but keep in mind that, like any similar bag, they can still be pierced or torn by sticks or sharp objects. They’re ideal for general garden waste.

All our bin liners are certified compostable according to the European standard EN-13432 and bear the Seedling logo. They are also certified for home composting under the OK compost HOME programme.

Our bin liners use a corn starch + PBAT biodegradable blend that replaces a significant portion of conventional fossil-based plastic with renewable, plant-derived material. By using corn starch as the primary biopolymer, the formulation reduces dependence on finite petroleum resources and supports a more circular, bio-based materials cycle. The starch component also provides a readily accessible food source for bacteria and fungi; once exposed to moisture, heat, and oxygen, these microbes begin converting the starch into simple compounds such as CO₂, water, and biomass.
PBAT, although traditionally sourced, is a biodegradable aliphatic–aromatic copolyester. Its molecular structure contains ester bonds, which are susceptible to enzymatic hydrolysis. As microorganisms secrete enzymes, these ester linkages are gradually cleaved, causing the polymer chains to shorten and eventually fully decompose.
This dual-mechanism design allows the material to degrade efficiently in home composting systems and even faster in industrial composting environments, where temperature and humidity are controlled to optimise microbial activity.
